First pumpkin of the year
Well, here is my first ripened pumpkin of the year. It is a pie pumpkin, about 1.5kg. Two more are about to ripen, at which point I'll have enough to make something of them.
I never had any success with pumpkins or any sort of squash. Nor with peppers. And I barely succeeded with broccoli one year (mind you that was another cold Summer - back in 2000).
I planted an equal number of squash and pumpkins but only got two squash. Something ate the squash plants when they were young, but for some reason didn't touch the pumpkin ones, which were right next to them.
